Default Suggestions please???

Hello peeps!

Just need a bit of help. I am with a really crap firm who shall remain nameless and who have basically told me to move back to remortgage (very droll and boring ) or out the door!

I have always thought that the thing stopping me from progressing, gaining more experience or getting an actual TC was this firm and after 3 years and 2 weeks workin me butt off in there, I know I am right!

So now I have a problem - I want a TC more than anything but I also need a new job before I get fed up and pack it on or they decide to let me go (they have done this with people waiting for TC before - offer them 3 months paid then bye bye!)

It is hard to get a job never mind a TC with the experience and because of the 'wonderful' reputation of the firm I work for at the moment. So how do I apply for a TC but also a paralegal/legal assistant vacancy at the same time without sounding like I am a desperate weirdo? Any suggested covering letters? Any websites for vacancies? Anyone else in the same situ?

Also, the firm does have a bad rep I am not jokin so how can I make my CV look spectacular despite their name being there? Everytime a prospective employer looks at the name its 'mmmm', or 'I have worked for firms worse than that - used to work in Legal Aid', or 'yes, they have a really bad reputation them lot'. I feel my CV looks bad enough already with the 2:2 never mind that firm!

Apply for paralegal positions, firms will understand that you stayed for the carrot of a TC and got stuck, you have valuable legal experience which is a strong point in the marketplace

It's not only you loking for a TC I'm in a similar situation and basically there just aren't enough to go round anyway so don't give up if it's what you really want but think carefully about what you want
