Default LEGAL RECRUITMENT AGENCIES?!

Has anyone had any experience of recruitment agencies? I have had some experience and was not to impressed. I applied for paralegal jobs and never heard anything back and they insisted on putting me forward for legal secretary positions- something I wasnt interested in as I doubt this would ever lead to a TC.

Still being in a desperate position I am going for a registration interview on friday with a recruitment agency to try and find some legal work.

Has anyone had a decent job through an agency?

Thanks in advance

I have found ProLaw very useful lately, even though they havent got me anything thus far but they have kept me updated and are chasing some applications for me.

Hi

My experiences of recruitment agencies has not been so good. I registered with a few last year having completed my law degree.

I was messed around by a particular agency who had said that I had pretty much secured a job etc, only to find out - after having chased them on the progess, that I was 'pipped to the post' etc. Then, the same person rang me a month later to say that firm really wanted me and asked whether I was still interested, I said 'yes'...then again I hear nothing.

Generally speaking, I now look at recruitment agents as no more than sales people... they will say anything to keep you on their books.
Admittedly I didn't have much experience back then, but on the other hand I was only applying for Admin Assistant type posts nayway.

Anyway, hope you have better look. If you are registering with a recruitment agency, don't limit your self by just registering with the one.. go for a few more to increase your chances.

Good luck

Well done Alexx!

I loved working at NR (though I was based in Camomile rather than the grand Kempson House).

What department will you be working in?
