It's the Law Society's magazine. All solicitors (inclu. trainees) get it free every week.

They also post jobs on their website. Heres the link

That's worrying... ANYONE looking to start a career should know what the Gazette is, and in the months running up to applications, you need to be reading the legal press every week.

It's very exciting when the first one lands on your desk... real "I've made it!" territory. And you take the time to read it and marvel.

But then when they start coming every week (think Harry Potter, owls coming down the chimney and cluttering up everywhere sort of reference) you learn to despise them for lack of desk space.

I've got about 30 now and all bar 2 or 3 are still in their plastic wrapping.

I had that feeling too

Although it took a while for my first one to come through, given how slow the Law Society took to register my TC!

I only got mine last week, I don't think they're as regular as the Gazette.

Can't say there's a great deal to get excited about in it tho!

Chuck them in the bin as soon as they arrive, this is the behaviour of a real lawyer

Hah, my boss tends to stack them on the windowsill and as soon as the pile of slippery plastic-wrapped Gazettes looks like collapsing I can hear him order them to "Stay, stay there... don't even think about it..."

A few weeks later they will collapse and his secretary will discreetly file them in a big black plastic sack
