Default At the end of the Training Contract

I finish my TC in a couple of months (great excitement, I know)

Unfortunatly, after being constantly informed that I would 'more than likely' be kept on, it appears my boss is a nob head and has very likey changed their mind

Does anybody here have any experience of looking for a job with no post qualified experience???

I plan to sign up with a few agencies, but really is the last thing you want to be worrying about when its supposed ot be a happy relief time

Ive heard that if you don't/ can't stay on at your firm you should leave within 6 months of qualifying as after that period youre expected to be pretty able to handle most cases in your area of law. I hear the NQ market is pretty good, so I wouldn't worry.

Im a long way off qualifying but I hear these snippets from our NQ's.

Yup, you will have no problem finding work... I'm yet to come across an unemployed NQ . what area of law are you looking to qualify into ?

I moved on as an NQ and it was not difficult. Easier than getting the TC inasmuch as I did my CV and the agencies I signed up with sorted some interviews for me!

You may find that you go to a lot of interviews before you get an offer but you'll get there. There is usually a place for every NQ out there, in most disciplines. What are you qualifying into, out of interest?

Thanks guys, makes me feel a bit better!

Wills and Probate, I really really enjoy it and I'm hoping that as its not an amazingly popular area with NQ's that I should be able to find work.

I'm pretty set that even if my firm now keep me on, I shall only stay for a maximum of 12 months - my boss can't stand me I reckon, you know when you get that feeling??

On the LPC we had a rep come in and try and "sell" us probate work because there is apparently a shortage of NQs wanting to go into it! You'll be fine.
From what I've heard - from several varied and all equally reputable sources - NQs can be fighting firms off with a stick. After all, they get a relatively cheap qualified solicitor without having to have to pay for all your LPC and TC etc!
