Lots of people work as costs negotiators in firms, as a way of getting a foot in the door to getting a training contract. I know that there are a few firms in Manchester that recruit in-house this way (Horwich Farrelly, Beachcroft) This way you can get negotiation, advocacy, drafting, litigation experience, etc.
Or you can get a few months working as a costs negotiator in a specialist costs firm, then move on.
It's very rare just to fall into a training contract straight after doing your LPC, even if you do have a 2:1.
