Default funding the CPE

how many people on here had funding for the CPE?

hope to sit mine next year, and could not afford to do it myself. However i have now enherited enough to put me through the course.

ive been told it much easier to get funding for the LPc, because you are sitting the cpe already and your provider will have more resource to help you etc.

somebody mentioned the figure that only about 30% have funding to sit the cpe, riseing to 70% for the LPC surly this cant be right?

is it possible to secure funding for the cpe once the course starts?

cheers

Well from what I've experienced the 70% mark is a bit high. I think it depends where you go and what you do e.g. if you go somewhere that does the city LPC a lot of people there will be funded as their firms will have required that they do this course at that place. If however you do the LPC elsewhere most people don't have training contracts lined up.

Sort your spelling out before you even consider it, it does actually matter.

I'm at a tiny little CPE provider, only 40 of us, and this year 4 have funding for this year, a few more havefunding lined up for next year, but that leaves a lot of people paying fees. Which are so much! To be honest, seeing all the applications people are doing with no joy, I think you have to be prepared to fund it yourself, or take a year out. One of the biggest problems is that by the time TC offers are coming in you're about to start, or have started the course, so you could pay the deposit, or even full fees before you have any idea whether youo're going ot be getting anything towards it. All fun and games xxx

Once you get a TC your employer will usually pay the fees i.e if they are the type that funds CPE and LPC.

I know a number of peeps who got TC near the end of the LPC and still got their Full LPC fee and Grants paid . It all depends on the firm where u get your TC.

Personally Id say just be glad 2 get a TC

I paid my own way through the GDL/CPE and am now taking a year off to save up before the LPC and to sort out a training contract.

I managed to get the required training contract with a fairly small City firm, and, after asking politely, they agreed to give me a "contribution" towards the money I'd already forked out for the GDL. It turned out that the contribution was a welcome 80% of what I'd paid, so I was more than happy. And of course they will also be funding my LPC.
