When does the training contract start - Training contract and trainee solicitor information and resources

Dear All,

I know this seems like a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. What month does the training contract usually start?

I will be (hopefully) graduating next July. Therefore I'll be doing the LPC in 2008 - 2009. So do I apply for a training contract starting in 2009 or 2010

It depends on whether you want a gap year after your LPC - if not then you should apply for training contracts that begin in 2009. However, I'm afraid that most of the deadlines for 2009 contracts have passed, so you may have no choice but to apply for 2010 contracts.

Most start in September/October, some start in March. And there are still plenty of firms recruiting for September 09 - check out http://www.lawcareers.net/Solicitors/Tr ... lines.aspx. Good luck.
