Default Other jobs within criminal justice system

Hey,

I really want to go into criminal law however with all the reforms there will be a lack of training contracts. Does any one know of any other jobs within the CJS that pays well or has good prospects? I've been thinking about the police.

Thanks, Sarah

My friend Disco is currently going through this whole debate. He received some excellent advice though! He is now looking at Personal Injury and Family, with the aim of getting into a firm that also does Criminal, that way he can wrangle a seat in Criminal and then hopefully qualify in that... good luck!

I have a mate in criminal (the bloody hippy!) he seems to think there is a need for good graduates who aren't in it for the cash to go into criminal (defence). If you do go into criminal defence bear in mind you will go mad if you only ever deal with wee jimmy the shoplifter, the interesting work is in rapes and murders and other such high profile work.

although there is a lot of money to be made getting the rich off speeding charges.

Here's a few that come off the top of my head:
-forensic psychologist
-prison guard
-caseworker
-social worker
-trading standards officer

(Granted, some of these are more closely related to criminal practice than others.)

BTW, do you want to do mainstream criminal work or white-collar work?
