I think you should target the bigger firms. This job wasn't advertised it was a speculative application, but it's a really big firm. I don't think many of the smaller firms are recruiting.

Well done Del!

I would agree with your advice, on the basis of my own experience. I have ended up being offered a job where I have been temping. I think firms might not be advertising / using recruitment agencies, but positions do exist. I was warned - by one recruiter, so am wary of their self interest - not to 'over expose' my cv, ie not send it out speculatively, on the basis that if a position was not available at the time but arose later the firm might be concerned if I was still unemployed should they get in touch with me at that later date. But then, I think that is what is called for at the mo - and Del found this too.

Good luck to everyone! I wonder how Fengirl is getting on... you and her kept me feeling positive last year Del, thanks!

congrats Del. I too have a found gainful employment as a tutor at my old Uni. I'm doing ILEX, GDL and LLB classes.

Should pay the bills until I get a NQ position
