is it just me who has experienced conflicting information from different people when you call up the SRA?

No it's not just you - the SRA are useless!!
The answer you get depends on the mood of the person answering the phone I think

it's terrible innit? Even questions in relation to the most basic things results in conflicting information, how is that supposed to help us?!

Have you tried emailing them ... I know that a friend of mine managed to get a response from them that way.
