Gimme-law, what a ridiculous statement!

Nor you or I know what had happened in this chap's life, so please, put the self-pitying sentiment away.

If you have to go, you have to go, end of.

Excuse me helloooo? But I thought this was a forum. I was just expressing my opinion. I'm not pitying myself at all, just stating facts that it IS way too hard to get a tc. Who the f are you anyway????

Back to the subject...

Obviously it depends on the reason why you have to go (which you haven't said), but seems a waste of all that time and effort. If it was me it woudl have to be a very good reason.

In my humble opinion, no one who says this should ever, ever be permitted to qualify and disgrace the profession:

Hi to F1 granny! In your simple opinion you must mean. It is arrogant, old, small-minded, self-rightous lawyers that are a disgrace to the profession. They need to be put out to pasture. I am entering the legal profession and I'm gonna be paying your pension, mate. I don't have to be gramatically correct in an internet forum and your comment has nothing to do with the original thread.

Well said, gimme law!! lol. CFC and F1 Granny should go do one!

I agree with the earlier posts (that were actually in response to the thread!). 14 months isn't that long to bide your time.

there's nothing humble about your opinion grainnie... your sanctimony astounds me.

i'm wi mikey and gimme on this... the dude hasn't even dipped in since to explain. yes if it's a bereavement or sickness in the family then fair enough or something like that, fine, bit as gimme has alluded to... training contracts are like hens teeth, and after all it is a contract that should be honoured.

i take all this back if the dude has pertinent reasons but it sticks in my craw when someone would consider packing it in half-way through given the angst and pain any of us go through to land one... think on.

Advice to original poster - Try to stick at it, even if you don't end up working within the profession future employers like to see that people can stick things through. If you really can't bear to finish then see if you can discus an extended break from your TC; discuss it with the LawSoc and your training principal.

Advice to those frustrated by original poster's situation - Your advice should be based on the original poster's circumstances and not the fact that you are bitter that (s)he got a TC and you haven't; suck it up and get back to your applications.
