Default Grrrr, bloody SRA and CRB and the whole damn lot!

*****begin rant*****

My fellow trainees here already have their letters from the SRA confirming admission, and got their CRB checks back in about 3 weeks.

It took 6 weeks for me to get a response, and the response is "Sorry, you're a pesky foreigner, you've only been here 4 years and 5 years ago you lived somewhere else for a year, go get a CRB check there". If they'd put this information in with the initial letter sending out the form, I would have done it well in advance!

Only now it looks like I have to go via the Data Protection Act and there's a 40-day wait time for responses (I know that's the statutory maximum; I also know that subject access requests are routinely filed in the "do it in 39 days' time" folder).

Admission on the 15th is now looking very unlikely...*grumble*

*****end rant*****

I know what you mean, I was made redundant and luckily taken on by another firm. I've only got 2 months left on my tc, but the SRA are a month behind with processing transfer forms so it looks like I'll be a month late being admitted. I really can't imagine it takes that long to process a transfer, a month is a ridiculous amount of time!!
