Default numerical tests / interpreting data

Can anyone tell me if these tests usually allow the use of a calculator? My maths was never too bad at school, but as my last maths exam was 10 years ago, i'm a bit rusty!

Surely the tests are there to see how you cope with interpreting data in a real life situation, where one would normally use a calculator, so it makes sense to allow them. Specifically, i'm attending the Thomas Eggar assessment day where they have said there will be an interpreting data test.

Thanks
Della

Yes, I think they usually allow a calculator and scrap paper, though I don't find that always helps! I did the most horrendous one you can imagine for Eversheds earlier in the year - I only got through half the questions and I wasn't all that sure about the answers for those, and I always liked Maths! There are lots of practice numerical tests on the web, though - definitely try the SHL ones. I also remember finding a website that went through things like percentages, fractions, etc in quite a straightforward way, specifically for people doing tests of this type.

Thanks Dragon thats a relief. Yes, i've been practising all morning! Thank goodness I had the foresight to do so, as it took me an hour or so to get into the swing of it - valuable time I would not have had in the real test!!

I've found some great sites for practising assessment day tests - here they are for anyone interested...
