Traditionally, this may have been true, but it's somewhat changed now BPP has exclusive contracts with some top City firms.

I went to Nottingham Law School for the LPC in the days when the particular firm I trained at had it as one of its specified firms, which I don't think it does anymore - how colleges are regarded, at least by particular firms, seems to change from year to year these days.
