Responsibilities/Duties: Reviews and extract case material of selected data and information relating to specific information Reviews and summarizes information in prescribed format on case precedent and decisions Searches and extracts legal references in Lexis/Westlaw and other database libraries. Prepares digests of selected decisions or opinions which incorporate legal references and analyses of precedents involved in areas of well-defined and settled points of law during depositions prepares exhibit and privilege review logs and cross reference logs. Screen documents for relevance and privilege according to criteria guidelines and perform initial compilation of documents for FOIA and/or production requests. Prepares and organizes trial exhibits, as required, such as statistical charts and photographic exhibits Verifies citations and legal references on prepared legal documents Prepares summaries of testimony and depositions Drafts and edits nonlegal memoranda, research reports and correspondence relating to cases. Qualifications: Requires paralegal certificate. One year of litigation experience as a paralegal. Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system to perform legal research. Excellent oral and written communication skills thorough knowledge of legal research tools (Lexis and Westlaw). Must have computer applications skills such as Microsoft Office or Corel. Ability to consistently work under extreme pressure while providing quality deliverables. Desired Qualifications: Trial experience Automated litigation support experience very helpful.
