PARALEGAL WITH BENGALI/HINDI LANGUAGE SKILLS We are a national law firm with over 140 staff. We have a vacancy in the Personal Injury department at our London office for a paralegal with Bengali/Hindi language skills to help us to provide a high level of service to our Bengali/Hindi speaking clients, develop our links with the community and attract new clients. The role will involve meeting with clients and speaking to them on the telephone taking statements drafting correspondence and other documents general case handling and involvement in marketing. Applicants should: i 1 2 Be fluent in Bengali/Hindi (spoken only) and English (spoken and written). Due to the nature of our work a good standard of written English is very important. i 1 2 Have a degree at 2.1 or above (or equivalent) and a good academic record generally. A law degree is not necessary, but would be an advantage. i 1 2 Have some experience in a busy office environment, in a role requiring a high level of attention to detail. i 1 2 Be hard working, highly committed, reliable and flexible. i 1 2 Have a positive attitude and the ability to use initiative. i 1 2 Be IT literate and well organised. i 1 2 Be articulate and confident. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are studying the LPC, BVC or ILEX on a part time basis or who are taking time out of education between the law degree and one of those courses with a view to studying on a part time basis in the future. Practical legal experience in Personal Injury would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
