Assist Syngenta corporate legal team in managing all aspects of its legal support practice, managing support staffing and providing assistance in legal guidance and document preparation necessary to meet company objectives and help ensure compliance with federal, state, local and ethical rules and regulations in the conduct of business activities.
Accountabilities
Manage substantive organizational, administrative and legal assistance with regard to Legal Dept. activities. Provide management in the areas of office coordination and management, legal document creation, preparation, review, editing, compliance and/or management with regulations, litigation coordination and contract negotiation.
. Manage the legal department support functions, including the coordination and management of support personnel
. Coordinate and supervise management of complex matters, including document drafting, organization and review, maintenance of correspondence and filing, including corporate records, coordination of document distributions, and communication with attorneys (internal and external), internal clients and vendors.
. Provide support in the areas of legal document preparation, compliance with regulations, litigation coordination and contract negotiation.
. Responsible for the management and implementation of Various file tracking and databases.
1. Review and ensure the company's compliance with regulations. Prepare and manage department and litigation budgets and reports.
. Independent recognition of compliance issues. Research and analyze all compliance issues. Interacts with internal business and external experts to provide significant analysis, summarization and recommendations.
. Assists in the creation of the annual department budget. Tracks spend and project costs and makes recommendations for current and future budgets.
. Manages the budget timelines and ensures completion and distribution of the legal budget.
. Independently interacts with outside counsel, responding to inquiries regarding complex issues, projects or assignments, may prepare recommended resolution for legal counsel.
. Takes a more proactive role in assisting with gathering and facilitating written and document discovery associated with litigation.
2. Create, prepare, review, proof, edit and/or manage legal documents, including but not limited to contracts, leases, licenses and purchase, sales and production agreements, merger and acquisition documents, corporate records, correspondence, reports and presentations.
. Prepare, provides substantial review based on legal and business knowledge and files complex legal documents with appropriate entities as required. Prepare and organize case/matter files, notes and legal documents.
. Document examples: Merger and acquisition documents, purchases, land transactions and combinations of various agreements.
. Creates and provides expert review and editing of correspondence, reports and presentations.
3. Research legal matters, including performing legal searches using computer databases, digests and manuals locate and analyze relevant statutes, regulations and court opinions writing summaries and analyses.
. Independent review and management of research using complex information sources, detailed and actionable summarization of findings.
. Conducts complex legal research using legal search engines, state and federal databases, and can perform a detailed analysis and summary of research findings.
. Tracks electronic legal dockets using electronic filing databases and determines docketing litigation calendar.
4. Ensures that legal department records are keep in compliance with Syngenta corporate policies, including the Records Retention policy.
. Independently and proactively complies with records retention policies.
. Draft corporate and manage complex and multiple corporate records.
. Assists in training and facilitating to ensure compliance with company policies.
5. Coordinate meetings, conferences and travel arrangements. Other duties as assigned.

. Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal documents and conduct basic legal research using Internet-based tools.

. Typically requires a minimum of 8 years related experience.

Additional Information
. A minimum of 2 years in current position is required (requirement for internal applicants only)
. All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
