In-House Commercial Paralegal at Arup – Central London

Arup is a worldwide professional consultancy providing a broad range of engineering and associated services to help develop the built environment.  We are looking for a paralegal to join our in-house legal team in Central London, to start in autumn 2019.  The role will focus on construction law and offer broad experience of professional consultancy appointments and other commercial contracts.  We work very closely with the business in a pro-active, practical and collaborative way.

The role will include:

  • drafting, amending and checking contracts;
  • assisting with the contract negotiation process;
  • liaising with engineers and other commercial managers;
  • legal research;
  • file management and administrative tasks;
  • assisting with legal training and development, and
  • providing ad-hoc support to qualified lawyers within the team.

The candidate will be self-driven with strong communication skills, commercial awareness, a commitment to producing high-quality, thorough work and a common-sense, proactive approach.  We are looking for a candidate who has completed the LPC/BPTC ideally with commendation and has a strong academic record.  Previous paralegal experience would be beneficial.

There is potential for the right candidate to be considered for a training contract in due course.
